Spyro Adventure came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2003, developed by Vicarious Visions. It was one of those portable platformers that tried to capture the feel of a console adventure on a much smaller screen. The GBA had plenty of action games back then, but not many starred a dragon, so this one stood out just by being different.
You control Spyro, running and jumping through levels, breathing fire at enemies, and hunting for gems. The main goal is to explore each area thoroughly, defeat bosses, and rescue trapped dragon elders. Key mechanics include gliding across gaps, charging to break objects, and solving simple puzzles to access new paths. The pacing is brisk, with levels that are compact but dense with things to find; the difficulty is fair, never too punishing. It feels satisfying to methodfully clear each stage, leaving no stone unturned.
