Starcatcher looks like a Mario clone at first glance—little guy running and jumping, coins everywhere—but it’s actually way more puzzle-focused. Instead of long platforming gauntlets, each level is this compact little challenge where you’ve gotta figure out how to grab the star at the top. Some coins are easy pickups, others force you to time jumps just right or bait enemies into breaking blocks for you.
The controls feel snappy, and the colors pop in that classic Flash game way—bright blues and yellows everywhere. My only gripe? Sometimes the star’s placement feels a bit mean, tucked behind some obnoxious obstacle. Took me way too many tries on level 7.
Arrow keys to move, space to jump. Simple, but it works.
