Stellar 7 on the Amiga is one of those games that feels like a love letter to the original 1983 version—just way prettier. You’re piloting the Raven, this beefed-up tank thing, blasting through star systems controlled by Gir Draxon’s alien army. The first time a mothership drops that massive Guardian boss in front of you? Yeah, that’s when you realize this isn’t just a nostalgia trip.
The cockpit view makes it feel like you’re actually driving the thing, and the polygonal 3D (which was mind-blowing back then) holds up surprisingly well. They didn’t mess with the core gameplay—same enemy placements, same frantic dogfights—but they tossed in power-ups like a supercannon that absolutely shreds everything. And now, instead of just grinding through waves, you get a proper boss fight at the end of each level. Gir Draxon better watch his back.
