Stellar 7 came out in 1990 for MS-DOS, developed by Dynamix. It was one of those early 3D polygonal shooters that felt ambitious for its time, putting you in the cockpit of a tank-like spacecraft. The graphics were simple by today's standards, but they created a convincing sense of depth and motion on those old monitors.
You control a tank with limited movement, navigating from screen to screen across different planetary surfaces. Your main goal is to destroy all enemy units in each sector before advancing, while also collecting power-ups to upgrade your weapons and shields. The game requires careful aiming and evasion, especially during the large boss encounters that cap off certain levels. The pacing is methodical, and the difficulty can spike without warning. It feels tense and deliberate, demanding focus more than speed.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
