Supapoon DX came out in 1996 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, developed by Yutaka. It was one of those late-era SNES releases that felt a bit off the beaten path, not trying to compete with the big action or RPG titles but doing its own strange thing instead.
You control a bouncing cannonball, ricocheting around enclosed single-screen stages. Your goal is to clear each room of all enemies by shooting them while avoiding their projectiles and the walls themselves. The game emphasizes constant movement and careful angles, since you're always in motion and your shots are tied to your bounces. Enemies range from geometric shapes to oddball designs like top-hatted fish, all firing dense patterns of neon bullets. It's fast, demanding, and requires quick reflexes, but nailing a clean run through a tricky screen feels incredibly sharp. The whole experience is chaotic, precise, and weirdly satisfying.
