Super Bases Loaded on SNES is one of those baseball games that’s weirdly addictive once you get into it. You pick from 13 made-up teams (I always went with the Knights for some reason) and take them through a gauntlet against the other 12. But here’s the twist—it’s not just about winning. The game grades you on everything: errors, walks, strikeouts, even how many pitches you throw. Start at 100 points, then watch your score tank if your fielding gets sloppy.
The pitcher’s-eye view takes some getting used to, but it makes hitting feel way more tense. And if you somehow manage a perfect game against a level 5 team? That’s the holy grail. There’s also a weirdly satisfying player editor if you’re into tweaking stats, and the option to just sit back and let the AI teams duke it out in watch mode. Not bad for a 90s baseball sim.
