Super Bust-A-Move came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2001, developed and published by Taito. It was part of that early wave of puzzle games on the system, a time when quick, colorful diversions were a natural fit for handheld play. The game didn't try to reinvent the wheel; it was a straightforward, portable version of a familiar concept.
You control a small cannon at the bottom of the screen, aiming and firing colored bubbles upward to match groups of three or more of the same color. The main objective is to clear all the bubbles from each screen before they descend and reach a bottom line. Key mechanics include banking shots off the side walls to hit tricky angles and creating chain reactions by popping supporting bubbles. The pacing starts relaxed but the difficulty ramps up significantly, demanding more precise aiming and quick planning. It feels satisfying to set off a big combo and watch the whole structure come tumbling down.
