I picked up T2: The Arcade Game for the Game Boy back in 1992, published by LJN. It was one of those portable attempts to bring a coin-op experience to the small screen, and like many such games of that era, it had to make some compromises. The hardware limitations were obvious, but for fans of the movie, it was still a chance to step into that world on the go.

You control a small sprite of the Terminator, moving automatically through levels while you aim and shoot at enemies that appear from all sides. The main goal is to survive each stage, taking down T-800 endoskeletons and other threats before they drain your health. The signature mechanics include a targeting reticle you move with the D-pad, limited ammo that forces careful shooting, and occasional vehicle sections that break up the on-foot action. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty can feel unforgiving due to the cramped screen and imprecise controls. It feels like a stripped-down, sometimes frustrating arcade shooter that demands quick reflexes and patience.
