Taz-Mania on the Game Boy came out in 1992 from Recreational Brainware, a time when licensed platformers were everywhere. It was based on the animated series, so you knew what you were getting into; another cartoon character hopping around, but this one had a spin.
You control Taz, the Tasmanian Devil, moving through side-scrolling stages across Tasmania. Your main goal is to rescue your kidnapped family members from the hunter Wendell T. Wolf. You spin to smash through obstacles and enemies, collect apples to keep your health up, and use a ground stomp to break certain floors. The pacing is fast, with lots of things to destroy, but the hit detection and some cheap enemy placements can make it frustrating. It feels like a messy, chaotic scramble most of the time, which honestly fits the character.
