Game Overview

Tearaway Thomas is one of those Amiga platformers that looks adorable but plays like a caffeine-fueled nightmare in the best way. You’re this weird little creature—part fox, part gremlin, maybe?—sprinting through 50 levels split into bite-sized chunks. The goal’s simple: grab enough gems (40 out of 55 in level 2, for example) before time runs out, then bolt for the exit. Purple gems are worth more, but honestly, they’re not any harder to grab—just shinier.

What makes it tricky are the enemies. They’re all cute birds and bears, but they’ll wreck your momentum if you touch them. You can’t kill them, just hop on their heads for a tiny points boost while dodging everything else. The levels are full of ropes, moving platforms, and the occasional vertical climb up something like a giant tree. And if you run out of time? You lose a life but keep your gem progress—so no starting from scratch, just a fresh timer. It’s chaotic, but in that satisfying way where you’re always one jump away from disaster or triumph.

Honestly, it’s the kind of game where you’ll fail a level three times, then nail it on the fourth with half a second left. Pure Amiga platforming adrenaline.
