Play Tecmo World Wrestling Online
Classic NES wrestling with 10 ridiculous characters, over-the-top moves, and that amazing dramatic announcer. Face-slamming into metal posts never gets old.

Tecmo World Wrestling came out on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1989, developed and published by Tecmo. It was part of that wave of early sports games trying to capture the spectacle of professional wrestling on a home console, standing alongside titles like Pro Wrestling but with its own distinct, slightly more serious flair.
You choose one of ten international wrestlers, each with a few unique moves, and fight through a tournament to become the world champion. The core gameplay involves grappling with an opponent to initiate a hold, then quickly mashing buttons to either apply a submission or execute a powerful throw. Signature mechanics include a momentum-based pinning system where you must stop a moving meter in a tiny green zone to secure a win, and the ability to perform special moves, like a German suplex or a diving crossbody, when your spirit meter is full. The pacing is deliberate, almost methodical, requiring you to learn the timing of reversals and the specific inputs for each character's arsenal. It feels like a strategic, almost chess-like brawl where a single mistake can lead to a sudden three count.
