Tel Jan came out in 1992 as an arcade cabinet release from Arcade Studios. You play as a lone adventurer armed with a short sword, moving screen by screen through a maze-like fortress. Your goal is to recover three scattered relics, each guarded by a boss creature. The combat relies on quick slashes and careful positioning; you learn to watch enemy patterns, especially the bat swarms that dive from above and the spinning blade traps that force you to time your movements precisely. The game moves fast and the difficulty is high, with limited continues encouraging cautious play. It feels tense and focused, demanding your full attention from start to finish.
