Game Overview

Tennis Cup II on the Amiga is one of those early sports games that somehow nails the feel of tennis without overcomplicating things. You pick your player—some are faster, others hit harder—and then it’s straight into matches that actually require a bit of strategy. The ball physics are simple but satisfying, and the controls are responsive enough that when you lose, it’s usually your fault, not the game’s.

It’s got that classic Amiga charm, with chunky sprites and a surprisingly decent sense of momentum when you’re sprinting to return a shot. The AI isn’t brutal, but it’ll punish lazy serves if you’re not careful. I spent way too many afternoons trying to beat the higher difficulty levels back in the day.

If you’re into retro sports games, this one holds up better than most.
