You control SpongeBob and Patrick, switching between them to use their unique abilities. SpongeBob can perform a bubble blow attack and climb certain walls, while Patrick is stronger and can throw objects. The goal is to recover King Neptune's stolen crown, which means navigating through side scrolling levels, avoiding hazards like jellyfish and robotic guards, and collecting golden spatulas to progress. The pacing is brisk, with some tricky jumps and enemy patterns that keep you alert. It feels like a solid, no frills adaptation that captures the show's humor through its action.
