I picked up The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie for the Game Boy Advance back in 2004, a time when licensed platformers were everywhere. THQ published it, and it was one of those games you'd grab because you liked the show. It doesn't try to reinvent the wheel, but it captures the show's vibe pretty well for a GBA title.

You control SpongeBob for most of the game, running and jumping through levels based on locations from the film. Patrick joins in for certain sections where you need his strength to move heavy objects or solve simple puzzles. The main goal is to retrieve King Neptune's stolen crown, which means battling robots, collecting spatulas, and occasionally driving the Patty Wagon in frustrating top-down driving stages. The pacing is brisk, though some vehicle sections can slow things down. It feels exactly like guiding a wobbly, enthusiastic sponge through a series of unpredictable Saturday morning challenges.
