Play The Uncanny X-Men Online
Pick two X-Men, smash through Magneto's forces in top-down NES action. Wolverine up close, Cyclops from afar—just don't get hit too much.

The Uncanny X-Men came out for the NES in 1989, published by LJN. It was one of many licensed games from that era, and it tried to capture the feel of the comics with a straightforward action approach. You could pick from a few X-Men characters, each with their own attacks, and set off through side-scrolling and top-down stages.
You control one of the X-Men, like Wolverine or Cyclops, and fight through waves of enemies on your way to stop Magneto. The game uses a mix of melee and projectile combat, with some characters better at close range and others suited for distance. You move screen by screen, clearing out foes before advancing, and the difficulty ramps up quickly with enemy numbers and limited continues. It feels like a grind at times, but there's a simple satisfaction in plowing through Sentinels and Brotherhood members with a well-timed claw swipe or optic blast.
