Play X-Men :The Uncanny Online
Pick your mutant, punch robots, and scramble through mazes before the timer blows—just don’t overuse your special move or you’ll pass out. Good luck cracking that final level code without the manual.

X-Men: The Uncanny came out in 1989 for the NES, published by LJN. It was one of the many licensed games from that era, based on the popular comic book team, and it arrived during a time when side-scrolling action titles were common on the system. You could tell it was trying to capture the feel of the X-Men, with a roster of characters and their powers, but it had the look and sound of a typical late-80s cartridge.
You control one of four X-Men—Wolverine, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, or Colossus—each with a unique attack and a screen-clearing special move that drains health if used too much. The goal is to fight through levels filled with robotic Sentinels and other enemies, find keys to open doors, and eventually enter a code to disable a bomb. The game is structured screen by screen, with some light exploration, but the constant timer in most stages forces you to keep moving. It's known for being difficult, with limited continues and enemies that respawn quickly. Playing it feels like a relentless scramble against the clock, where every mistake costs you.
