Play The Wild Online

You switch between a slow-but-tough lion and a speedy squirrel, jumping over pits and smacking wildebeests while trying to rescue a kidnapped cub—it’s way more intense than the movie. Some missions drag, but nailing those vine swings feels good.

Game Overview

The Wild was a Game Boy Advance game released in 2000, developed by Bit Managers and published by Ubisoft. It arrived during a period when licensed platformers were common on the handheld, often drawing from animated films. This one stood out for its attempt to translate the energy of its source material into something more interactive and demanding.

You control two characters: a strong but slow lion and a quick, nimble squirrel. Your goal is to rescue a kidnapped cub by navigating through jungle stages, fighting hyenas and wildebeests with basic attacks. The game uses screen-by-screen progression, with some areas requiring careful use of the squirrel's vine swinging or the lion's ability to break obstacles. The pacing is uneven at times, with occasional stretches that feel repetitive, but the challenge is consistent. Pulling off a difficult jump or clearing a crowded screen of enemies provides a tangible sense of accomplishment.
