Game Overview

Thunder Burner is this weirdly satisfying Amiga game where you pilot a clunky robot that can suddenly turn into a spacejet—like some kind of desert planet Transformer. The controls take a second to get used to since you only move in these sharp 45-degree angles, but once you figure it out, there’s something weirdly hypnotic about dodging between cacti while blasting enemy ships.

Your fuel drains constantly, so you’re scrambling to grab those floating spheres while trying not to crash into anything. And yeah, you’ll crash a lot—every hit costs you one of your limited lives, and before you know it, you’re staring at the high score table wondering how anyone survives past level 5. The whole thing has this janky, tense charm that makes you want to try just one more run.
