Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2006, developed by Vicarious Visions. It was a different kind of Tony Hawk game for the handheld, trading the open skateparks for a pure, focused race to the bottom.
You control one of several skaters, including Tony Hawk himself, and your only goal is to get down each hill first. The signature mechanics are all about maintaining speed; you perform tricks off ramps to fill a boost meter, and you use that boost to blast past rivals or recover from a near crash. The tracks are packed with shortcuts, traffic, and pedestrians to swerve around, making every run a chaotic test of reflexes. It feels fast and a little unforgiving, but nailing a perfect line through the chaos is incredibly satisfying.
