Top Gear 2 came out on the Sega Genesis in 1993, developed by Gremlin Graphics and published by Kemco. It was one of the better racing games on the system at the time, offering a more serious take on the genre compared to some of the arcade style competitors.
You control a race car across a series of international circuits, competing in championships to earn prize money and upgrade your vehicle. The game uses a split screen view during two player races, and you must manage fuel and tire wear over long distance events. Nitro boosts can be collected on the track for temporary speed advantages, and aggressive driving is often necessary to push through traffic. The difficulty is fairly high, demanding precise control and strategic pit stops. It feels fast and demanding, with a real sense of progression as your car improves.
