Game Overview

So this is basically Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge’s slightly eccentric cousin. You’ve got 16 countries to race through, but the tracks are these weird mashups—like Monza’s layout plopped in the middle of Ayers Rock, or Hockenheim’s old curves winding through Vancouver. It shouldn’t work, but somehow it does.

Each country has four races, and you’re up against 19 other cars. Finish in the top 10 to keep going, but you’ll want to crack the top six if you want points (and cash). Spend that money on upgrades—engines, tires (wet or dry, because of course it rains at the worst times), shocks, gearboxes. Pro tip: splurge on the expensive stuff early. There’s no discount for trading up later.

Oh, and you get nitro. Not a ton, but enough that you’ll agonize over when to use it. Watch for bonus boosts and speed tokens scattered on the track, along with puddles that’ll send you spinning if you’re not careful. Win all four races in a country, and you’ll get the password for the next one. Just don’t expect the scenery to make any sense.
