Top Hunter: Roddy & Cathy came out in 1994 as an arcade game from SNK. It arrived during a time when side-scrolling beat 'em ups were common, but it stood out with its bright, cartoonish style and unique mechanics. You control either Roddy or Cathy, each with their own stretchy-limbed attacks, moving screen by screen through vibrant levels. Your main goal is to defeat enemies and bosses while collecting power-ups and hidden items. The signature mechanics include grabbing foes from a distance with your extendable arms and hurling them into other enemies or environmental hazards. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly, especially during boss encounters.
