Total Recall on the Amiga is one of those classic movie tie-ins that actually gets the vibe right. You start as Doug Quaid—yeah, the Schwarzenegger version—messing around in a futuristic city before things go sideways. The first level’s all about sneaking past guards and grabbing keycards, and let me tell you, ducking under gunfire while punching dudes in the face never gets old.
Then it switches up—some levels are side-scrolling platformers where you’re blasting through corridors, others throw you into a speeding car dodging traffic and blowing stuff up. The driving sections are intense; you’re locked at full speed, weaving between trucks while your weapons recharge. And just when you think you’re safe, some giant boss vehicle shows up at the end.
What’s cool is how it mixes in bits from the movie—cutscenes pop up between levels to keep the story moving, and later you even switch control to Melina for a puzzle section. It’s janky in that early ‘90s way, but if you’re into retro action with a sci-fi twist, this one’s a blast.
