Turn and Burn came out in 1992 for the Game Boy, developed by Imagineering Inc. It was one of those many action games that filled the library, a straightforward combat flight sim you could play in short bursts. It didn't try to reinvent the wheel, just offered a solid, portable dogfighting experience.
You pilot a fighter jet viewed from behind, navigating through waves of enemy aircraft and ground targets. The main goal is simply to survive each stage, destroying everything in your path. The signature mechanics are the tight, responsive turning needed to line up shots and the constant dodging of incoming fire; the screen can get very crowded, very fast. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty is unforgiving, demanding quick reflexes and memorization. It feels like a tense, satisfying test of precision under pressure.
