Play Ultimate Air Combat (Europe) (En,Fr,De) Online
Tiny jet, big sky—just you dodging enemy fire and lining up shots with two buttons. Those pixel planes actually put up a fight, weaving and diving like they mean it.

Game Overview
Ultimate Air Combat is one of those NES games you stumble on when you've played all the usual suspects. It's barebones—no fancy cutscenes, no ten-page manual—just you, a jet, and a sky full of enemies to shoot down. The controls are stupidly simple (A to shoot, B for missiles, that's it), which means you're blasting bogeys within seconds of hitting start.
Graphically, it's about what you'd expect from an early 90s flight sim—tiny pixel planes, blocky terrain scrolling below—but there's something weirdly satisfying about how immediate it all feels. Missions blur together after a while (protect this, destroy that), but the dogfights stay tense because enemy jets actually try to outmaneuver you. Found myself grinning when I finally nailed a tricky loop to shake one off my tail.
Fun fact: the German translation calls missiles "Flugkörper," which sounds way more dramatic than it has any right to. This is the kind of game you play between bigger titles, when you just want to feel like a hotshot pilot for 20 minutes without thinking too hard. Doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it doesn't need to.
