Ultra Seven came out for the Super Nintendo in 1993, developed by BEC. It was part of that wave of licensed games based on popular shows, and it fit right in with the action platformers of the time. You don't see many people talk about it now, but it had a solid presence on the shelf next to more famous titles.
You control the hero from the show, fighting through side scrolling levels against familiar monsters. The main goal is to clear each stage by defeating the enemy waiting at the end. Key mechanics include a chargeable energy attack that grows stronger the longer you hold the button, and screen by screen progression where enemies respawn if you backtrack. The game moves at a steady pace, but the difficulty spikes during boss fights where timing your special moves becomes critical. It feels like a straightforward brawler that asks for patience more than reflexes.
