Undead Line came out for the Sega Genesis in 1991, developed by Palsoft. It was part of that wave of early 90s action games that really tried to push the hardware with fast, detailed sprites and a grim, oppressive atmosphere. You control a lone soldier fighting through a city overrun by the undead. Your main goal is simply to survive the onslaught, clearing each screen of enemies before you can proceed to the next. The combat relies on a few key mechanics: a standard gun with limited ammo, a powerful but scarce supply of grenades for crowd control, and a close-range knife attack for when things get desperate. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty is unforgiving, with enemies swarming from all directions. It feels like a constant, tense struggle for every inch of ground.
