Undead Line is one of those weird, wonderful Genesis games that makes you go, "Wait, why haven’t more people talked about this?" You play as this psychic dude with a yo-yo—not kidding—wrecking zombies and demons in a neon-soaked, ruined Tokyo. It’s like if someone took Castlevania, gave it a shot of arcade adrenaline, and then tossed in some seriously bizarre weapon choices (yo-yo combat is way more satisfying than it sounds).

The first level throws you right into the chaos: dodging floating skulls, slicing through shambling corpses, and figuring out how your psychic blast actually works. The controls feel tight for a 16-bit port, and the spooky synth soundtrack nails that "everything’s gone wrong" vibe. By the time you hit the first boss—some grotesque, screen-filling monstrosity—you’ll either be hooked or running for the manual to see if you missed a trick.

Originally an arcade game, this version smooths out the rough edges but keeps the frantic energy. It’s short, tough, and packed with enough weird charm to make you forgive the occasional cheap hit. If you’re into retro action with a side of "what am I even playing right now," this one’s a blast.
