Unreal on the Amiga throws you straight into this weirdly beautiful fantasy world where you’re some knight (or maybe a wizard? The manual wasn’t clear) trying to rescue Princess Isolde from a guy called Polymorphic—which, honestly, sounds more like a tech startup than a dark lord. The mix of 2D sprites and early 3D terrain is janky in that charming Amiga way, and you’ll spend half your time sliding down snowy hills like you’re on a magic carpet made of ice.

Each level’s got these little puzzles—nothing too brain-melting, but you’ll definitely get stuck once or twice trying to figure out which lever opens which gate. And yeah, you can absolutely yeet yourself off cliffs if you’re not careful. Combat’s basic but satisfying, especially when you finally nail the timing on those sword swings. Die, and it’s back to the start, but at least your health refills between levels so you’re not totally screwed.

It’s got that old-school vibe where the challenge feels fair until suddenly it doesn’t, but the atmosphere carries it. That snow level still lives in my head rent-free.
