Play US AAF Mustang Online
Jump in a P-51 and immediately wrestle swarming Zeros—mess up your dives at first, then start threading bullets through bomber formations as flak bursts around you. Those chunky pixel explosions never get old.

US AAF Mustang came out in 1990 as an arcade game from Sega. It was part of that wave of flight shooters that filled arcades in the late 80s and early 90s, sitting alongside titles like After Burner. The game put you in the cockpit of a P-51 Mustang, tasked with taking on waves of enemy aircraft and ground targets across several missions.
You control the Mustang, maneuvering to avoid enemy fire while targeting Zeros, bombers, and anti-aircraft installations. The main goal is to survive each stage, destroying enough enemies to progress. Signature mechanics include screen-by-screen advancement, where you clear one area before moving to the next, and a limited supply of special bombs for wiping out clusters of foes. The pacing is fast, with enemies swarming from all directions, and the difficulty can be punishing if you miss your shots or fly carelessly. It feels tense and immediate, especially when you barely dodge a stream of bullets and return fire just in time.
