Play Wannyan Idol Gakuen (J)(Caravan) Online

You recruit a squad of cats with big dreams, train their meows into pop vocals, and try not to crack up when they nail a dance routine with dead serious expressions. The pixel art’s all scrunch-faced determination and twitchy cat ears.

Game Overview

Wannyan Idol Gakuen is a Japan-only Game Boy Advance release from Caravan, a developer known for quirky, niche titles. It came out late in the GBA's life, when the library was full of experiments that didn't always make it overseas. This one is a rhythm and management sim wrapped in a very silly, very earnest package about turning cats into pop stars.

You play as a manager who recruits stray cats, trains their singing, and choreographs their dance moves for live performances. The main goal is to guide your feline troupe to stardom by succeeding in rhythm-based concerts and managing their morale. Key mechanics include timing button presses to the beat during songs, balancing practice schedules to avoid exhausting your performers, and unlocking new costumes or stages. The pacing is forgiving, with more focus on charm than challenge. It feels absurd and oddly heartfelt when your cat finally hits that high note.
