Wanted came out on the Amiga in 1988 from Infogrames Europe SA and Interceptor Micro's. It was a vertical shooter that fit right in with the arcade style games of the time, offering a straightforward but challenging experience without a lot of the frills you started to see in later titles.
You control a lone bounty hunter in a small ship, moving upward through each stage to hunt down one of four outlaws. The main goal is to defeat all four bosses in any order you choose. Enemy ships pour down the screen in patterned waves, and you can shoot destructible barrels that sometimes hide power-ups for your weapons. You also have a limited supply of dynamite that clears the screen of all standard enemies when things get too crowded. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty ramps up quickly, demanding sharp reflexes and smart use of your special attacks. It feels tense and immediate, a pure test of survival instincts.
