Wanted came out for the Sega Master System in 1989, developed by Probe Software. It was one of those late 80s action games that tried to do something a little different on the console, offering a straightforward take on the western shootout theme without a lot of the platforming or exploration common at the time.

You control a lone gunslinger moving screen by screen through a town, clearing out enemies in each area before progressing. Your main goal is to survive a series of duels, working your way to the final showdown. The key mechanics involve timing your shots carefully; you can only fire when your hand is near your holster, and mistiming leaves you vulnerable. You also collect wanted posters between stages, which serve as both a score tracker and a form of progression. The pacing is deliberate, almost methodical, and the difficulty comes from learning enemy patterns and refining your draw. It feels tense and a little unforgiving, but landing a clean shot is always satisfying.
