Play War Gods (E) Online
Punching your buddy as a chunky polygon god never gets old—special moves feel ridiculous, the characters look like they escaped a metal concert, and yeah, you’ll fumble the controls sometimes. Pure chaotic couch competition.

War Gods came out on the Nintendo 64 in 1997, developed by Midway Games. It was part of that early wave of 3D fighters on the console, trying to carve out a space alongside more established series. The game offered a roster of deities and monsters, each with their own exaggerated style and moves, fitting right into the era's fascination with polygonal combat.
You pick a character, like the thunder god Kabuki Jo or the lava beast Gyrus, and fight through a series of one-on-one matches. The main goal is to defeat each opponent across several stages, leading to a final boss. Signature mechanics include building up a power meter to unleash super moves and using weapons that occasionally appear in the arena. The pacing is deliberate, with combos that require specific timing, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly. It feels like a rough, loud brawl where every hit has weight, and victory usually comes from landing one big special move at the right time.
