Play Pokemon Stadium 2 Online
Your Johto team finally gets the 3D spotlight—battles feel huge, the AI doesn’t pull punches, and those mini-games are gloriously weird. Plug in your Game Boy or roll with questionable rental ‘mons.

Pokemon Stadium 2 came out for the Nintendo 64 in 2000, developed and published by Nintendo. It was a follow-up to the original Pokemon Stadium, arriving during a time when the N64 was still home to many multiplayer-focused games. This one expanded on the first by including all Pokemon from the Gold, Silver, and Crystal generations, giving players a new arena to test their teams.
You don't control a trainer directly on a map; instead, you manage your Pokemon roster and jump into turn-based battles against CPU opponents or friends. The main goal is to win tournaments across several cups, each with different rules and restrictions. Key features include the ability to import Pokemon from Game Boy cartridges via the Transfer Pak, using your own trained creatures instead of the weaker rental options. The game also offers a suite of mini-games, like Delibird's Present and Clear Cut Challenge, which break up the battling with quick, silly competitions. Matches can be tough, especially in later cups where enemy teams are well-built and strategic. Playing it feels like finally seeing your pocket monsters come to life in a loud, energetic coliseum.
