Game Overview

Wave Race 64 – Shindou Edition is basically the original game but with a few nice tweaks. The water physics still feel amazing—you really have to lean into turns and time your jumps just right, or you'll wipe out spectacularly. The rumble support adds a nice kick when you hit waves or clip a buoy.

What surprised me was how much the tweaked controls help. The jet skis feel a bit more responsive, especially when you're trying to thread through tight courses. And yeah, it's still all about reading the waves—some tracks change between laps, so you can't just memorize turns and call it a day.

If you played the original, this is a solid upgrade. If you didn't, well, it's still one of the best water racing games out there.
