The game uses a grappling system where you lock up with opponents before executing moves, and signature mechanics include climbing turnbuckles for high risk maneuvers and using foreign objects when the referee isn't looking. The pacing can be slow, with some awkward collision detection making certain actions feel less responsive than they should. Despite its technical shortcomings, landing a finishing move after a back and forth match delivers a genuine sense of accomplishment.
