Whizz is one of those Amiga games that looks simple at first—until you realize the isometric view plays tricks on your brain. Moving right actually sends your character diagonally down, and pressing down-right makes them go straight down. Took me a solid five minutes of walking into walls before it clicked.
The levels are these weird, maze-like spaces with doors that don’t make much sense—like, why does a brick icon open the ice door? And sure, you could fight the enemies, but every hit you land chips away at your energy, so half the time you’re better off just dodging them. The timer doesn’t help either—nothing like panicking because you took a wrong turn and now you’re scrambling to find the right door before time runs out.
It’s frustrating in that old-school way where you keep coming back just to prove you can beat it. Definitely not for everyone, but there’s something weirdly satisfying about finally nailing the movement.
