Play Whizz on Msdos Online

Little blue guy bouncing between floating blocks, dodging spinning death traps—those chunky DOS pixels somehow make the jumps feel perfect after a few tries. That synth soundtrack still gets stuck in my head.

Game Overview

Whizz is one of those weird little '90s isometric platformers that feels like it should be janky but somehow just works. You play as this little blue dude hopping between floating platforms, dodging spinning blades, and collecting gems—classic stuff, but the controls are surprisingly tight for an MS-DOS game. The first level throws you right into it: no hand-holding, just a quick jump tutorial before you're bouncing between moving blocks while some synth-heavy soundtrack kicks in.

It got ported to pretty much everything back in the day—Amiga, SNES, even the Saturn—but the DOS version has this weird charm with its chunky pixels and slightly off-color palette. The perspective takes a minute to get used to (I kept misjudging jumps at first), but once it clicks, it’s weirdly satisfying to nail a tricky sequence. Definitely one of those "just one more try" games when you faceplant into a spike pit for the tenth time.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
