You play as Roger Rabbit scrambling through Toontown’s tiny alleys, digging through drawers for clues while dodging random goons—until the bosses show up and suddenly you’re sweating over your last health pick-up.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit on Game Boy is basically a pixelated detective adventure where you play as the frantic cartoon rabbit trying to clear his name. You’ll wander around Toontown—which looks way more cramped than in the movie—chatting up weird characters for clues and rummaging through drawers for random items that might help later. The whole "framed for murder" thing gets surprisingly dark for a cartoony game.
Most of the time you’re just trying to figure out who to talk to next while dodging these annoying little enemies that pop up out of nowhere. The combat’s pretty basic—you can bonk them with a mallet if you find one, but half the time I just ran past them to save health. The boss fights are where things actually get tense, especially when you realize how few healing items the game gives you. It’s got that classic Game Boy charm, though, even if the puzzles sometimes leave you scratching your head.
Definitely one for fans of the movie who don’t mind some janky old-school gameplay.
