Play Winter Challenge (USA, Europe) Online
Pick your event, then wrestle with the slippery physics—nail a perfect ski jump or eat snow when your bobsled clips the wall. Best with a friend laughing at your wipeouts.

Game Overview
Winter Challenge on the Genesis is one of those early '90s sports games that somehow makes pixelated snow feel legitimately slippery. You start off picking from events like downhill skiing or bobsled—I always went for ski jumping first because watching your little dude ragdoll after a bad landing never gets old.
The controls take a second to click (especially in luge, where oversteering sends you spinning into the barriers), but once they do, there's this weirdly satisfying rhythm to nailing a clean slalom run. The two-player mode is where it really shines though—nothing like watching your friend wipe out halfway down the bobsled track while you barely scrape by for the win.
It's janky in that very specific 16-bit way, but the sheer variety of events and that crunchy synth soundtrack give it way more personality than most sports games from the era. Just don't expect Frostbite Engine-level realism.
