The main objective is to climb the ranks through various match types, including singles, tag team, and cage matches. Signature mechanics include a momentum-based reversal system and a create-a-wrestler mode that lets you customize everything from appearance to move sets. The pacing is deliberate, with matches often feeling slow and clunky compared to later titles; the difficulty spikes noticeably in career mode.
