Play WWF Superstars (USA, Europe) Online
Pick Hulk or Macho Man, then wrestle in slow motion while the ring glitches out—it’s janky, but weirdly hypnotic. The AI breaks in hilarious ways, like your opponent forgetting to fight back.

WWF Superstars came out for the Game Boy in 1991, developed by Rare and published by LJN. It was one of the earlier wrestling games on the handheld, arriving when most portable titles were still pretty simple in scope. You got a small roster of wrestlers and a basic championship mode, which was about what you could expect from a cartridge back then.
You pick a wrestler like Hulk Hogan or Randy Savage and take them through a series of matches to win the title. The controls are straightforward: punch, kick, grapple, and attempt pins. Matches play out in a slow, almost methodical pace, with the sprite animation being fairly limited. The AI can be unpredictable, sometimes freezing up or making odd decisions, which leads to some unintentionally funny moments. It feels clunky by today's standards, but there's a strange charm in its simplicity and occasional glitches.
