Play WWF Wrestlemania Challenge (Europe) Online
Choose your favorite WWF superstar, grapple, punch, and kick your way to victory in the ring, trying to pin or submit your opponent in this classic wrestling game.
WWF WrestleMania Challenge came out for the NES in 1991, developed by Rare and published by LJN. It was one of many wrestling games on the system, trying to capture the over the top personalities of the era's WWF stars. You could choose from a roster that included Hulk Hogan, The Ultimate Warrior, and "Macho Man" Randy Savage, each with their own exaggerated sprites and signature moves.
You control a wrestler from a side view, moving left and right to grapple your opponent. The main goal is to win matches by pinfall or submission, building up your special meter to unleash a finisher. The mechanics are simple; you punch, kick, and grapple, with timing mattering more than complex inputs. Matches can feel slow, and the AI is often cheap, leading to frustrating moments where you get pinned quickly. It feels clunky and dated, but there's a strange charm in its straightforward, button mashing chaos.
