Play WWF Wrestlemania Challenge Online
Classic NES wrestling chaos with Hogan, Andre & crew. Tag teams and 3v3 matches turn this into a button-mashing party game.
WWF WrestleMania Challenge came out for the NES in 1990, published by LJN. It was one of several wrestling games on the system that tried to capture the over-the-top action of the sport's televised events, with a roster that included Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, and The Ultimate Warrior. For its time, it was a straightforward attempt to bring the spectacle of the ring into a pixelated, side-view format.
You pick a wrestler and face off against opponents in one-on-one, tag team, or three-on-three elimination matches. The main goal is to win matches by pinfall or submission, building up your special meter to unleash a signature move. The controls are simple, relying on basic punches, grapples, and running attacks, but the collision detection can be unpredictable. Matches often devolve into frantic button mashing, especially with more than two characters on screen. It feels like a clumsy but earnest interpretation of pro wrestling, where victory often comes more from persistence than finesse.
