Game Overview
X Multiply is like R-Type’s weird, slightly unsettling cousin—same intense side-scrolling shooter action, but this time you’re flying through a human body blasting microscopic aliens. Your ship, the X-002, ditches the usual Force Pods for these creepy indestructible tentacles that can block attacks (thankfully, because one hit and you’re toast).
At first, the organic corridors and pulsating walls throw you off—it’s not your typical space backdrop—but the tension’s the same. You’ll snag power-ups like spread lasers and homing shots while dodging waves of enemies that feel way too at home in there. The tentacle shield is a lifesaver, but timing it wrong means instant regret. It’s brutal, but in that classic arcade way where you keep mashing ‘continue’ anyway.
Definitely one of Irem’s more bizarre takes on the genre, but the sheer weirdness makes it stick in your head.
