Game Overview

Xenon 2: Megablast is one of those Amiga shooters that sticks with you—mostly because of that insane Bomb the Bass soundtrack blasting while you dodge enemy fire. You start off in this weird organic-looking alien zone, weaving through waves of enemies that get seriously relentless by level three. The cool part? Wiping out enemies earns you cash, and every so often you drop into this shop run by a guy named Colin (yes, really) where you can upgrade your ship’s weapons, speed, or armor. Some power-ups float around mid-level too, so you’re always scrambling to grab them before getting blown up.

Then halfway through, everything shifts to mechanical enemies and tighter corridors—some with dead ends that’ll trap you if you’re not careful. Oh, and if you hold down, your ship actually scrolls backward, which is either genius or annoying depending on how many times you’ve crashed into a wall. The whole thing’s chaotic in the best way, especially when you’re barely surviving with a sliver of health left. Just don’t expect the later levels to go easy on you.
