Game Overview
XP8 is one of those Amiga shooters that still looks surprisingly slick today—those raytraced graphics give everything this weirdly shiny, reflective look, like you're blasting through a neon funhouse. You start off with a basic pea-shooter, but those weapon tokens change everything. Found a hidden section? Suddenly you're rocking this ridiculous spread shot or homing lasers. Took me a while to realize some power-ups stack if you grab multiples.
It's tough solo, but the two-player mode turns it into this chaotic back-and-forth of dodging bullets and stealing each other's upgrades. Five levels might not sound like much, but the password system saves your progress, and some of those later stages get properly mean with enemy patterns. Just don't expect much story—it's all about the flashy explosions and trying not to crash into the scenery.
