Oh man, Yumemi-chan no Naritai Series 3: Watashi no Makesalon is that weird little GBA game I keep coming back to when I need a laugh. You play as Yumemi-chan, this overly enthusiastic girl trying (and mostly failing) to run a beauty salon. The first time I played, I accidentally gave a customer a perm when they wanted a trim—they stormed out, and Yumemi just shrugged like "oops, next!"

The pixel art is super cute, all chibi characters with exaggerated expressions, and the gameplay's this chaotic mix of time management and slapstick comedy. One minute you're carefully applying hair dye, the next you're scrambling because three customers showed up at once and someone's demanding a manicure while their hair's still wet. It shouldn't be as fun as it is, but there's something about the janky charm that hooks you.

If you've played the other Naritai games, you'll recognize Yumemi's brand of cheerful disaster, but this one cranks up the madness. Perfect for short bursts when you want something silly and nostalgic.
